Ferme du Coteau

Located just 18 km from Quebec City, in St-Laurent on Île d'Orléans, our farm grows over 30 varieties of organic fruits and vegetables without chemical inputs.

Head Gardener

Alexandre Faille

An expert in organic farming, our head gardener has been working with the team for 17 years to seek out rare and heirloom varieties, enriching the diversity and authenticity of our menu.

Each plate thus becomes a delicious work of art, telling a story—the story of Quebec’s terroir, from our Ferme du Coteau all the way to your table

Biodiversity as a pillar of our approach

Alexandre Faille champions sustainable agriculture and biodiversity in Quebec. By growing rare and heirloom varieties, installing bird and pollinator nesting boxes, companion plants, and fruit trees, our farm nurtures a thriving ecosystem. Beehives near our crops boost natural pollination and enrich the ecological diversity of our farm.

The Environment at the Heart of Our Approach

At Ferme du Coteau, we grow over 30 fruits and vegetables, nearly 20 unique varieties on 10,000 square meters, all without chemical inputs. Our farm also protects wild meadows, maple groves, and woodlands, providing rare wild ingredients and supporting local biodiversity. Each foraged product highlights the seasonality and strong connection between our land and Quebec’s sustainable cuisine.
